What is Offered
A variety of counseling services which include:
Individual counseling
Part of my practice is made up of people who are seeking to make changes in their lives. My clients have presented issues/concerns that are hindering them from living their best life. Counseling is a great tool for learning more about yourself and how you can make changes to live a more productive life. Issues such as depression and anxiety may require medication, but I believe counseling is a great compliment, opposed to medication alone. If you are under physician’s care, I will gladly coordinate services to provide a seamless treatment.
Couples counseling
Relationships are wonderful and its hard work. As people, at times, we fall into patterns that are counterproductive to having healthy relationships. Prior experiences may cause havoc in present relationships, without us even knowing it or knowing what to do about it. In those cases, frustration, resentment, and ambivalence may move in and take root. Couples counseling (opposite sex, same sex, married, unmarried, partnered, etc) can help as it presents opportunities for a third party to facilitate communication and help brainstorm more productive ways to improve the relationship.
Child/Adolescent counseling/Play Therapy
We all know that child/adolescent years can be a very hard time of life as this time can be filled with a range of emotions, thoughts, and behaviors. While a certain amount of rebellion can be expected as its part of the “growing up process”, there is a line between functional and dysfunctional behaviors. Child/adolescent counseling can help with by setting goals, practicing new behaviors, and learning new communication skills.
Clinical Supervision
For helping professionals who are seeking full license (independent), clinical supervision is required. I use a developmental and collaborative approach to supervision, with the goal to helping you grow as a professional. We will set targets in the following areas: counseling orientation, style, professional identity, and competence. To this end, my role as a clinical supervisor may include teaching, evaluating, consulting, or counseling.
